Birth Doulas provide support in 3 very significant ways!
Michigan Family Doulas recognizes the birth of your baby as one of the most significant events in your family’s life. Our dedicated doulas are prepared and equipped to prioritize your physical, educational, and emotional needs from the moment you choose to engage our support.
Through a variety of physical comfort measures including massage, positional changes, and counter pressure, your doula will ease your discomfort and enable a more positive experience.
With your birth doula by your side, you can rely on their vast knowledge to gather all the insight you need to make real-time, in-the-moment decisions about your care.
Waves of emotion associated with labor can come on like a tornado with no signs of them in the forecast. Your doula will be there to help you process these emotions as they arise.
Our labor doula support package includes the following:
During this visit you will work through a series of topics with your doula to determine your wishes for your best birth. Together, a plan will be created that will be implemented upon the onset of labor.
On Call Period
Your Doula will be on call for you 24 hours per day, 7 days a week until your baby is born. No question is too big or too small to engage the support of your doula for. You don’t have to do any of this alone!
Postpartum Follow Up Visit
This in home visit is approximately an hour in length and is a great opportunity to discuss your recovery from birth and gather some tips and tricks for feeding, comforting, and soothing your baby.
