Virtual Postpartum Group Support

Love in the Time of Cholera…..This is the name of a movie from 2007 with Javier Bardem. Although were not dealing with Cholera now, what we are facing is much worse and much more contagious. We are all on lockdown in quarantine….rules in the hospitals have changed and birthing families can’t have doulas present with them anymore-some hospitals are separating mom and baby and no longer allowing partners in the delivery room. It’s a scary time for many and is causing extra stress on top of impending childbirth.

Our nervous systems are frayed with the bombardment of news media showing death and destruction all across the world. Is it any wonder that postpartum families need help and support more than ever? Believe me, it’s killing us all here at Ann Arbor Postpartum Doulas that we cannot be with you during this time.

However, there are some virtual support offerings by Postpartum Support International. They include:

  • Perinatal (Pregnancy & Postpartum) Mood Support Group
  • Pregnancy Mood Support Group
  • NICU Parents
  • Military Moms
  • Pregnancy and Infant Loss

In fact, virtual support groups are highly in demand—a huge increase from previous years, according to the graph attached to our blog post. You’re not alone!!!
